Need help with USD steam wallet code

So my friend gave me a 20 USD steam wallet code and I can't seem to redeem it because of region issues. He lives in the US and I'm from PH, and the code SHOULD be in PHP instead of USD and then I can redeem it. Is there anything I can do to redeem that 20 USD and use it to buy games?

nothing you can do with the code. tell your friend that its useless to you because of the region restrictions.

Does trading help? I mean he redeems the code and buy a skin then trade it to me, and then I sell the skin on the market?

Trading doesn't let you claim the wallet code. And if your friend uses it for themselves, they can do whatever they want with those funds.
