Downloading Windows Games on MacOS Laptop
I stayed in low-bandwith area so I have to go to libraries or public areas to gain access to fast internet to download games. Recently, I switched my Windows laptop to MacOS one, so I can't download games on MacOS, then transfer it to Windows. Any tips?

Get a copy of SteamCMD. It can be used to download games for platforms other than the one you're currently using.

The command to download files for another platform can also be used with the Steam client.

1. Get access to Steam's Console tab.

- enter the browser protocol command in a web browser: steam://open/console
or
- launch Steam with the argument -console. Could run this in Terminal:
open "/Applications/Steam.app" --args -console

2. In the Console tab, enter the following command:
@sSteamCmdForcePlatformType windows

Now, until you quit Steam (or set platform type to macos), downloads will be the Windows version.

3. Get a game's App ID and use it in the following command, replacing '<appid>':
app_install <appid>

(finding the game's App ID: could right-click the game in your Steam Library > Properties > Updates, could visit its store page and check within the URL, could use steamdb.com)
