I've been experiencing a very annoying issue lately that appears to be limited to the chat windows in the steam client.

Basically when typing instead of the usual result of getting the output of the input (buttons pressed) I am getting a different output where by If I type the word lets say for example "test" the output will be "tteesstt". So for every letter pressed on the keyboard the result is doubled.

This issue is not a broken keyboard, It does not happen anywhere else across my system. Only in steam chat windows.

Its driving me around the bend, does anyone have any experience with this issue and can suggest a possible solution? Are there other people experiencing this non sense too?

I would also like to note that I have tried reinstalling Steam which works but then its almost as if someone comes along and flips the switch so to say and it stops working.

Any help, suggestions and feedback would be greatly appreciated.
