Contacted by "Manager Steve" on steam who locked my account, removed my friends and the purchased games then asked me to do a trade?
Hi something weird happened I was playing rogue trader when someone called Manager Steve told me my account was limited because of reports and that they thought some of my items in cs2 could be stolen.

Then they asked me for a name in my friends list and told me to do a full inventory trade to check steam logs and such.

It was too sudden so I figured it was a scam but now my games are gone and my cs2 prime status is gone too.

Anyone have any experience with this? I put a support ticket on steam so hopefully i get a reply.

Secure your account. All steps...

Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/ or with whatever.

Deauthorize all devices https://psteamproxy.yuanyoumao.com/twofactor/manage

Change your password on a secure device.

Generate new back up codes. https://psteamproxy.yuanyoumao.com/twofactor/manage

Revoke the api key (this should be empty) https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/dev/apikey

Read the Steam Item Restoration Policy.

After you have fully secured your account, you can restore the games whenever.

1. Go here https://psteamhelp.yuanyoumao.com/en/

2. Scroll down and enter the name of the game in the search bar.

3. Click on the game.

4. Select "It's not in my library"

5. Select "Restore the previously removed package to my account."

Do steps 1-5 for each game that is missing.

Im pretty new to cs only been playing for like 3 months didnt know this was a scammers paradise. I have csfloat for trading.

I think i clicked on a link like a dumbass from a video that had simple in it with one of those giveaways for skins. That might be what did me in.

Welp lesson learned.CSFloat is safe though right?

No, you can find reports of all of them stealing items. Do not login to any 3rd party website with your Steam account.

ALL 3rd party websites are use at your own risk.

You seem like an intelligent and rational person based on your posts. This is extremely refreshing in these "I was scammed" posts.

While some trading sites might intend to do legitimate business, many do not. Some may do a certain degree of honest business while skimming off the top from choice victims. Valve also disapproves of these sites and they go against the TOS. They've sent waves of cease and desist orders to site owners before. There's a bit of a conspiracy theory that Valve actually allows the sites to operate because they technically indirectly profit from it. Whether that's true or not is debatable, but Valve is the only one who can stop them, and they haven't so far, so who knows.

It's really safer to just assume that all third party trading sites are scams and avoid them entirely. Keep all your Steam trading activity on Steam and Steam alone. Trust nobody.

some scammer created account named [helper] // manager no 45 and somehow made my games removed from library

the same thing happened to me, i was about to play half life 2 but i got a message from "manager steve" and my profile picture was removed and all my friends were gone except him who was only person left on the friends list, he asked me if i think i basically did anything suspitious, i said that i think i might've got my info stolen recently or some stuff like that im not going to go into details, then we just did the basic security stuff i think and now my account is being verified? not account but the items i recently bought actually, and also i can't check my profile untill the verification is finished i guess, he was very proffesional and even translated his text through a "steam translator" to my homecountry language, im 100% sure he's an official steam guy or something but the question i really have is, why did this happen? what people reported me and for what reason if i didn't really do anything?

Do everything in my first reply.

Also, report the 2 accounts that are impersonating Steam Support and Valve employees in your friends list and block them.

:nkCool:
@The Gongoozler

You're 100% wrong. You've been fooled 100% maybe. But you're wrong in your assessment.

Smoke and mirrors and gaining your trust doesn't make a scam not a scam.

Steam does not do support through chat for starters. Under any circumstances. Nor do they contact users or require any help from the user to administer Steam accounts. Scammers do all that stuff because they have to. Nothing you've described is a Steam support process. Everything you described is a well known scam process.

Also Valve can see everything your account does which makes any bogus report pointless. You and all your friends coukd report me for anything you want, a million times. Unless my account actually did the thing claimed, nothing will ever happen besides bogus reports being tossed in the trash.

Secure your account, learn more about scams because you don't know enough at the moment to stay safe.
