You need a bluetooth adapter that can perform aptX LL. Any other adapter is too laggy to handle the PS5 Dualsense gamepad.
There is a proprietary application that analyzes supported Bluetooth codecs on Windows 10 and 11 systems, but the price is not worth it for this use case.
However, since your PS5 gamepad lags when using it via Bluetooth on your laptop, it's most likely your internal bluetooth adapter does not support aptX LL.
If you decide to buy a bluetooth USB adapter that supports aptX LL, you'll need to disable the internal bluetooth functionality of your laptop. Consult your laptop's manual on how to do that and if that's not possible, you will have to do that via device manager.
Ok I'll look into it thanks for your help
I just built a new PC and had previously been using a USB dongle for my Bluetooth, but the new MB came with onboard BT, so I ditched the dongle. Now, I was suffering from this lag slightly before, with the dongle, but after my new build, the onboard BT made gaming with the controller all but impossible - until I read this solution, and tried it. I honestly didn't expect it to work.
