You don't take the screenshots with Steam, you just use the Printscreen key, paste it into Paint, and save it to the folder where a screenshot from Steam would normally go.

After you put the screenshot and the thumbnail in the folders like the guide tells you, you may need to restart Steam before it will recognize the screenshots. Then go to your library and they should be there. I did it a while ago, coincidentally with the same game. As long as you put them in the right place and they use the correct format and filename like the guide explains, they should show up.

ok..i really appreciate the help FFL2and3rocks. Im going to try to restart my pc now, since restarting steam did not work. I also read in the comments if resetting steam does not work, try to restart your pc. UPDATED: Restarted my pc, and now it works..

Actually , i was not trying to take images of that game, just using it as a guide to see if i can do it for another game. Regardless, seemed to work, so thanks for the help again! If i could rank you rep up i would in steam!

I tried these steps myself to screenshot the very weird and hilarious game, “About an Elf”, but it didn’t work. I even rebooted my computer twice and tried the Enable Steam Input option at the end instead of Use Default Settings and nothing has worked.

Anyone got any other ideas to fix this?

Not any myself sorry. Since there are updates & steam can change I believe this thread is STILL relevant especially if the previous instructions no longer work. Hopefully someone else has another solution. Sorry to hear this no longer works.
