Images disappearing from guides

I have the problem that Steam randomly deletes images at random times from my guides.
Guide gets created/updated and everything works fine for some time, then some images suddenly disappear.
I only notice it by going into 'Edit guide contents' - 'Images'. It shows broken images with 0 kb.

A visitor of the guide couldn't know that there should be images and just sees empty space where images should be.

By trying to reupload the images I get an error.

The old broken image can't be replaced and has to be deleted and then reuploaded, means all images have to be reembedded into their positions.
It's super annoying and happens to all guides every few months.

Bugfix, when?

I had this happen to my guides (not on this profile) last year. After a while it just worked again. And at least for one guide you are telling the user about middle click, so that's all you really can do.

Same here, half of pictures suddenly got broken. Mostly 24bit transparent PNGs.

Same issue. I reuploaded the broken 0kb image only for steam to *break* another in its place. Reuploaded the newly broken one and new one is broken. It's ridiculous.

This is a recurring problem, and I keep a copy of my images in a personal folder.

I regularly review my guides... over 60 of them!

I put back the broken images, but this also means changing the link in the text.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I have over 100 images, almost exclusively transparent .png files that I uploaded early in the guides history that are not displaying the images.

This would be extremely tedious to reupload all of these.

I came here to complain about the same problem. Happens in batches, a random assortment of images inside of my guides gets removed every couple of months.
