steam account lost after accepting friend request

my friend accepted a friend request after playing a game off c.s.g.o. with someone on his team and that person took over his account without logging him out he change his name to just numbers and remove profile photo remove all his friend and intercept a trade offer as well where he has lost everything the person even uninstalled all his games and take his c.s.g.o. prime status away he did not login to any links or click on any accept for the friend request and this morning after this happened to him my own steam app on my pc stopped working my setting menu was not available on the steam program so i uninstall everything off steam from my pc and reinstalled now every is working again now just have to download all my games but my friend not so lucky

Both of you need to secure your accounts properly:-

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://psteamproxy.yuanyoumao.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://psteamproxy.yuanyoumao.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY

Be vigilant on what links you click and there are plenty of phishing links dressed up as fake Steam links and that includes fake friend request ones.

thanks a lot for the replay so far after all i have done my account looks okay again but my friend lost everything he had on his account but i will sent him this info my be he can still get some control back over his account thanks again

This has nothing to do with the topic.

BF6 doesn't allow Daemon Tools to be on the PC at all. Not even left over registry keys.

Same goes for rewasd.

Some anti-cheats do not allow such emulation tools while trying to access their games. Battlefield 6 and CoD also bar the use of such tools.
