HELP - Steam login takes too long to ask for the mobile authentication code
This is happening quiet a while now for like 3-4 months and this wasn't like this before the mobile authentication codes. Before when i type my username and password and hit Enter, it immediately ask for the code. Now it takes 1-2 minutes before the "Steam Guard - Computer Authorization Required" tab to pop-up and ask for the code. This is starting to annoy me now and i can't stress this enough. I need to experience this thing over and over since there are multplie users using steam on this PC that i'm using and we need to logout and re login every time we want to play games. PLEASE GIVE ME A FIX!!!!

EDIT: I also experience this sometimes when i go to local internet cafes.

Click on the 'remember me on this PC' option when logging in.

You won't have to re-enter your account details.

i cant, my brother and cousin will use the pc and logout my account because they need to login theyre steam

To your initial issue, if you have a fairly decent PC, the issue can occur with programs that interfere with Steam.

If you have other processess running in the background, try closing them.

Malware are of no exception to this.

Boot your PC on Safe Mode with networking, check how long the pop-up takes.

Report your results here.

thanks for answering sir, i appreciate your suggestions. i already checked most of the things that you gave to me on the list on the link you provided, this pc was recently reformatted last week and clean reinstalled my windows 10. Do you think it has something to do with my HDD? i currently installed my OS to my hdd since i dont have a SSD yet.

pc specs:
-i3-6100
-gtx 1060
-msi b250m bazooka
-kingston hyperx 8gb ram
-western digital caviar blue 1tb

and besides, i dont use and install any antivirus for i am just using the windows defender security centre one, it has the same job as avast do, which most people recommend as a best free antivirus which is compatible to steam

Hi, this was 4 years ago, the issue is already been resolved, I dont know what made it solve my problem but I do notice it was gone after I upgraded my pc especially installing an SSD inside your rig. My pc specs is on my profile description.

Yea, this issue still exists. Verification code takes ages. For me once, it took me over an hour. You'll find my other reply on reddit if you want to read the large portion of it. But in the mean time (to the person reading it), reboot your phone entirely. Then request for a new code if you're expecting an SMS.
