Steam not detecting Dualshock 4 via bluetooth
So, I've been trying to use my Dualshock 4 with Steam using my new bluetooth adaptor, but it refuses to detect it. It detects my controller when it's connected via USB, but when I switch to wireless, nothing. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Silly question but have you made sure bluetooth is toggled on?

Either click the notification icon and toggle the Bluetooth icon on or Windows Key + S then type in Bluetooth and select Bluetooth & other devices and toggle it on here.

It is enabled. It even detects the PS4 controller, but inside Steam itself, it doesn;t pick it up at all.

if it is correctly paired with your windows, it should normally work.

otherwise:

enable ps4 configuration support and generic, try again

Mine works wired, but I want to use it wireless because the controller acts finicky when it's connected.

I actually figured it out. If you have Inputmapper installed or anything similar that takes control of the driver, remove it immediately. Restart your PC afterward and Steam will now detect it

same problem here. however i don't think it's related to steam, rather a windows issue, since DS4Windows does not work either. the controller shows up in connected devices as a 'Wireless controller' in device manager, but not as a HID gaming controller. actually pairing the controller is quite a struggle, usually it turns itself off after a few second and during the pairing shows up as unkown device.
it was working ok a few days ago, then my pc hung and had to hard reset it, since then DS4 works only via USB but not BT.

In the Devices try removing DS4
Reboot
Load DS4Windows and redo the pairing
If it works correctly be sure Hide DS4 is ticked in the settings and DS4Windows is loaded before Steam (they fight over controller then)

i already tried removing all my bluetooth devices in devce manager, inlcuding the bluetooth controller. normally neither DS4Windows or Steam are running on my system, i run them manually. but the controller is not recognized by neither of them. even if my controller connects to windows it turns itself of after a few seconds.

oh, and my controller light is always white. blinking at first, then turns into solid. when connecting over usb it works properly, as i already mentioned.

after you connected the controller to steam through the cable, unplug it, push the PS and SHARE button together for 3 sec until the light start to blink, go to bluetooth settings and add the controller as you would add any other bluetooth device.
After that steam recognizes it also when wireless.

This fixed things for me

I just realized that charging my dualshock into the computer causes it to program as wired, despite windows detecting it. The problem is with the controller and not the computer, which is why windows detected it.
