Money taken away when adding Payment Method.

Hello, could someone help me and tell me if it's normal that when I added my prepaid MasterCard as a payment option, 1 euro would be taken away, but no transaction on the card would be shown?

To make sure that's what it was, I deleted the payment method and re-added it, and now there's 2 euros missing. I'm assuming that the money is on hold and I will get it back, is that correct?

That's because the $1 charge is actually a temporary preauthorization from your credit card company, basically giving the merchant the green light to charge your card for the full amount when your final purchase is made. By preauthorizing your card $1, they don't have to place a larger hold against your account.

So if now I have 2 euros of preauthorization money, since I put the payment method 2 times without buying anything, I'll get the 2 euros back whenever I'll buy something?

They are only "taps" on your account.

Oh well that was what I was looking for, so I'll get back the money in a few days so I can actually buy the thing I wanted to in the first place, thank you. :)

So I waited a few days, nothing, I added more money to the card so I was able to buy the thing I want even if I was missing the money, I still didn't get it back. Any ideas on what should I do?

Did you contact your card company and ask about any pending charges? Your bank may *hold* money longer.

Verification *taps* made to your payment method never actually withdraw those funds. That's how verification taps work.

I did ask but they said they couldn't see when the money would go to my card.

And well if they did those taps wshouldn't they be shown on my card purchase history so there's no discrepencies with the amount I have and what i paid for?
