Will the game launch from your Steam library successfully and only crash later or does this happen right after clicking "play" in the library ?
Posting your system specs. and the exact error message would be better to maybe get more of an idea what you are dealing with and why. Thanks.
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
System manufacturer: Gigabyte
System Model: EX58-EXTREME
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs)
Memory: 12288MB RAM
Chip type: GeForce GTX 770
DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC
2. That is a pretty old BIOS you have. Can't say it will help, but taking into consideration the error you were getting, I would update that.

Make sure all other non-GPU device drivers are fully up to date from that Gigabyte site only.
EDIT...For example, the latest (non beta) version is F12 and has this in the notes......
Enhanced memory compatibility
The instruction at 0x7777f23c referenced memory at 0x6bf79a88. The memory could not be read
Even though sometimes I don't get a message at all my Rust just closes
1. I don't see anything mentioned about the "when" it crashes that I asked you in my first post.
2. Don't see any mention of searching the game forum for these error messages.
3. Don't see any reply that suggests you understand what I said about the possible BIOS update and also making sure all other non-GPU device drivers are up to date.
I will now attempt to ask another question, that may or may not be related to these issues.
What is your antivirus program and any other security software you have installed on that computer ?
You should make your own topic, moderators are just going to lock this one anyway.
Link back to this topic if you feel it's worth it though. And maybe you should look at providing the same info that OP did and was requested if you think it's the same issue.
