And no, Steam is not going to fight their business source over some useless text that nobody reads anyway.
Some devs seems to prefer other platforms when it comes to announcing stuff to the community.
Of couse some devs give zéro feedback for whatever reasons but I don't think holding them at gunpoint is the way to go.
I'm buying the game on Steam. I don't want to have to go to twenty other different sites, especially not social sites, just to get basic information that should be given automatically with an update.
This is the whole launcher problem again but simply in a different light.

Most of the time I was swearing thru my teeth when they forcefully included patches in gold editions or what not. I get that it was meant to be "better" but it often changed the game and even if there were quirks you would just learn to play around them. Not difficult to comprehend or do.
That said, judging by the general tone, I'd advice you pick a bone with somebody else.
