Steam vs. Reddit
When it comes to internet points, do you care more (or less) about Steam Points or Reddit Upvotes?

Do they influence your activity on either site? Or do you largely ignore them?

Does research suggest that they directly impact things like site traffic, sales, retention, etc.?

(I can neither confirm nor deny that caring about Steam Points prompted me to ask this question.)

I don't think there's a reddit upvote shop

There's exclusive subreddits if you get enough upvotes...and I've gotten there before.

But I'm not sure I'd want to hang around those people in hindsight.

All in all, steam points are better.

Reddit is considered one of the cesspools of the internet, it is full of extremist lunatics and is a shining example of how not to run a website.

Neither?

Also, they're entirely different things.

Or do you largely ignore them?

Imagine putting all sorts of strange meanings on just being a user of a forum.

How strange. The reddit forums I've looked at have just been informative & useful. Guess I didn't look at the "right" ones.

When they're reddit big, the connotations have to be very broad.

For something smaller, like...well I dont' even know if I can say the name but "___front" I can imagine quite a few things about a user of those forums.

I bet they're smaller and more specific, those are the more useful ones at least in my experience. Like r/datahoarding .
