GTA 6 Hype

Can someone explain the GTA 6 hype? I don't understand why normies and casuals are so desperate for this game to come out. I've played all of the previous mainline GTA games, barring the handheld games, and I never understood why normies act like they're the end all, be all of video games. They're fun, but I don't think I would ever consider any GTA game a top 100 game for me.

Anyone have any ideas why GTA in particular is so beloved amongst casuals? Is it like Call Of Duty where it's mostly the comfort of familiarity? It can't be the gameplay because it's very simple and not that deep. The stories of GTA range from nonexistent to great with 4 having the best, but even then, I don't think Auto Theft Grand game has had a truly compelling and mindblowing story.

I think they're ridiculous. I haven't bought one since Vice City. And that was only due to the music and time period.

I must be missing that sphere. I know the "X will come out before GTA VI does" meme but I don't really associate that with hype.

But GTA Online seems to make a lot of money.

Maybe your view of the game is blurred by a bias towards those that play/like the game considering you can't help but to call them "normies' and "casuals". Once you tire of the view atop the 31337 tree, you can see that games aren't meant to appeal to everyone, and that's okay.

GTAV to this day is a great game, I replayed the updated version recently and had a great time, that being said....the creators were always woke with both gtav, red dead 1, and red dead 2, my expectations for gta6 are rock bottom. I likely just won't play it at all. the premise isn't appealing at all. the three player characters in gtav were way more appealing than what they have planned for 6 I think it should have been a spin off at best, not a mainline title and it should have came out 5-8 years ago

Are you literate? If you read my comment in its entirety, you would know that I'm asking about the inherent value of it in comparison to other titles. It would be me asking why McDonald's is so popular even though the food is not the best thing to eat. It's easy to consume and cheap. The content isn't the best out there, but other factors could make up for it.

You dont get it? They are spending over 1 billion dollars to make it. Making sure even the poop stains on homeless woman 4 look JUST right.

And with a game they would spend that much to make. Surely it has to be perfect in every way. No bugs, no glitches, no issues of any kind.

Wont that be nice. A fresh AAAA game with no issues.

And if you want to know how good AAAA games are compared to AAA games. look no further than skull and bone.

Could care less about GTA, they are silly and nothing special! GTA 6 will be more of a buyback then anything, it will not do what most think it will. There is no such thing as AAA OR AAAA games that is an old piss poor selling tactic.
