Steam Input API vs Steam Input Translation
What's the difference between them? Is there a way to decide which one should be used? For some reason, BO7 uses Steam Input API, older games like MW3 Steam Input translation. So I wonder if I can somehow switch to Steam Input Translation, because that feels a lot better.

Steam Input is taking controller mappings and applying them to controller inputs.

Steam Input Translation is taking KBD mappings and applying them to controller inputs.

CoD supports Steam Input.

Steam is making MW3 work with a controller.

But I'm not playing with KBD, I'm playing with the exact same controller and yet 2 different systems are used.

Sometimes, you can use terms synonymously. Sometimes, you need to stop overthinking.

That, and "Steam Input" kinda does translation by default. I mean, you could go extremely technical, if you really got a couple of hours & nerves to kill, you could also spare yourself the time & nerves and accept those as synonyms.
