Looking for a MMO which doesn't have these problems.
I have experience with SW:TOR, ESO and DMO in the past. Eventhough, I liked all of them at first, after a certain point I just keep playing them to satisfy my achievement-hunger caused by OCD. And I decided to erase them. Thus, I wanna to share what I did not like and what I liked during my experience for you to be able to give me a suggestion about starting a new MMO. But, if I know the current trend, there is no MMO which fits to my taste.

- Over monetization problem: ESO has a very bad reputation about its monetization policy. Every DLC (There are lots of DLCs such as dungeon DLCs (you have heard right) and region DLCs. The problem is some DLCs' stories are bundled so you have to own both to be able to fully experience their story. Such as: High Isle + Galen or Greymoor + Markarth or Necrom + Gold Road. Otherwise, it stays incomplete. Also, even if you have bought them; you have to pay extra to be able to participate dungeons in these regions. Which is very absurd and greedy policy. Moreover, there are things you can buy which are very essential. You cannot even put a bank NPC to your home if you haven't paid 5000 Crowns. And, this NPC is crippled version of the regular one. You still cannot access to guild bank. Scrying and Jewelsmithing is out of the question if you do not have Greymoor and Summerset DLCs. But, these people for some reason, made scribing ability to be available for everyone. It was originally a Gold Road DLC only thing but, barely 4 months after I had bought DLC with the little money I had had during new year, they made it free. Why the hell had I paid for, then? It is a scam to me and they said nothing about making scribing to be available for everyone during new year. That was the last nail to the coffin. Besides, now they introduced new plus subscribing. They already had ESO+ now they also have ESO++. Bravo, how innovative is that if you want to make players suffer.
- Disregarding players' playing habits, unsuccessful to hear people's needs and making decisions which makes them angry: During my experience it started with changing 3-sided group battle to 2-sided group battles. They did not even care what we liked, they just did. And, I hated it. They could just bring 2-sided variant without disabling the old one but, they did not do that. Because, you have to play their own way. Second one is implementing subclassing system. Subclassing system is controversial eventhough it is more like elder-scroll-ish but, there are problems with that. First, you put predefined classes into the game. You shouldn't have. After you did, you cannot warp it this way. For that reason, subclassing ruined (I tried in test server), all class identity. Besides every class ability has their own color and theme. Sorcerer's is purple, warden's is cyan, templar's is yellow, nighblade's is red etc. So, for example you are a nightblade but unlocked templar subclass. Your templar skills will be yellow which is wrong to me. You are still a nightblade so they must be crimson but; no. Consistency and Aesthetics in MMOs are very important to me. Also, subclassing lets you open TWO ENTIRE SKILL TREES from one (or more) of other classes. Which is ABSURDLY GENEROUS and game breaking. Also, it destroys class identity. I believe subclassing should only give you to have 3 separate active skills and 3 separate passive skills from other classes. In addition to that, there are people like me who hates item limit in their houses. Item limits are absurd and they still make big houses for no reason at all. It is impossible to fill them because there are lots of items with different sizes and each item is count as one. I love micromanagement so I like to add little items to give more lively feeling. Also, I love practicality so, I always want to have every possible interactable (NPC, bank, crafting station etc.) item or NPC in my house to be able to reach them easily. But, this game does not let you do it. It thinks a book is equal to a giant statue. (The only thing when I was pretty excited was owning a Transmutation Station because I had no access to Clockwork City. But, I had one station in my house so, I felt like a cheater and became so happy.) Which is pretty absurd and I don't care their excuses. They make lots of money, they have harsh monetization policy, they have no right to make excuses at all. They even did not upscaled old outfits' quality so, they look like ****.
- Disregarding quality of life: To be able to unlock full potential of your mount, you have to unlock 60lvl of speed, 60lvl of stamina and 60lvl of something I don't remember. And each day, you can only upgrade 1lvl per character unless game gives you upgrade item. Which is very wrong and I told them to increase 5lvl per character per day but, they did not give a ****. Moreover, you have to upgrade mounts for each character SEPARATELY! You heard me right, it is NOT SHARED across your characters. How twisted is that?
- They don't care about if somebody swears: It is pretty annoying. Some people need a slap to their mouths (allegory), seriously. Tons of time I have reported them and only negligible amount of them have been punished.
- Lack of creativity: This is valid for both ESO and SW:TOR. Let's start with ESO. When you start the game, it makes you think you are in very different and aesthetically diverse virtual world. Well, up to a point it is true actually but, there are somethings I have to say. Especially Ayleid ruins' interior in any region are the same or very similar. It is very hard to differentiate them. There is a template and they use it again and again. It is actually not only ESO's problem. SW:TOR also have same problem, too. ESO's content is not enough and sometimes it is not even creative, not even a little bit. Gold Road DLC was bad, I mean very bad. It is continuation and finalization of Necrom DLC storyline. But, quests were too shallow and their count was not enough. It was very short experience. There were nothing too much to explore except West Weald. Eventhough, the main antagonist Ithelia has a realm, you couldn't even go there and discover it like you could do with Coldharbour or Deadlands or Ebonmere. Fighting was not satisfying at all. Also, there was no option to save Ithelia and keep her intact. So, your choice did not matter at all. You couldn't choose anything, your choice was not important. This is not Elder Scrolls I know. After experiencing Necrom, Gold Road was very dissappointing for me. And if I knew scribing would be free in 4 months, I would check Gold Road walkthrough and probably wouldn't buy that DLC at all. Other than Scribing, DLC was worthless. In SW:TOR, actually it is not a new problem. There is no new story content (except some minor ones which are negligible) such as Shadow of Revan, Knights of Eternal Throne, Onslaught etc. Which is very sad. They only activates same events again and again (in a pattern) so, it becomes boring after a point if you completed all character storylines, reached lvl max with all classes, upgraded your armor rating to max.

These are the things I hate which I could think of right now.

Hoarding, housing, aesthetics, PvE, feeling-free, collecting pets, (tried GW2 but did not like it. Too cartoonish for my test similar how WoW is to me)

It is unpopular one called Digimon Masters Online but, as an ex-player I prefer to call it as Digimon Scammers Online because; there was a scandal years ago about banning all of its players which are not from US. There was no refund, no indication, nothing. It just happened. Sadly, steam does allow this game in its catalogue regardless.

So how much of what you like would require other people to enjoy it?

Like if you could have all that but it was singleplayer would that be the same for you?

MMOs are not MMOs without other people. I can always play Just Cause, Prototype, Skyrim, Fallout, Hogwarts Legacy etc.

Bro, you just described every MMO in existence. MMOs just aren't for you.

I would hope you're not doing those simultaneously

My expectations were not high, just wanted to give a shot though.

I had .hack//infection in mind but apparently that never got a Steam release. Only .hack//g.u
Well thanks anyway fellas, looks like all MMOs are kinda cashgrubbers. So sad, I remember the times which MMOs were better. They were still cashgrubbers but; they had boundaries. Also, they had quality, too.

You are asking for something that is heavily censored but also highly creative, those things don’t exactly go hand in hand…

Is your favorite song still Sea Shanty 2, considering everything that’s happened with the composer?
