What is the one game genre you refuse to play? Whether it be because you find it boring, too tedious, easy/difficult, etc.

For me, it would be sports games without a moment's hesitation. I couldn't imagine buying a $700 console or gaming PC worth over $1k just to play yearly releases of some goofy, kid's yard games. I'd unironically rather buy Barbie match 3 tile games over that garbage. For reasons that will forever allude me, it seems that stupid crap is interesting enough to keep console casuals coming back.

I guess a distant second would be walking simulators even though I do like a few of them like the first season of Life is Trash, The Walking Dead, and What Remains of Edith Finch. If walking sims have boring stories, then they become essentially wasted hard drive/SSD space because they don't have meaningful gameplay to make up for a bad story unlike games like Borderlands past 2 for example where the fun combat is good enough to ignore the terrible writing. Walking sims can be engaging, but I just tend to gravitate towards games that have both good combat and writing.

Btw, I would say my favorite genres in order from most to least would be:

Isometric RPG's
Turn-based JRPG's
Dungeon crawlers
Action games (not Soulslikes but more DMC/Bayonetta type games)
First person shooters
