How many more decades do we have to wait?
Watch Gabe’s entire presentation.
I don't really need to. Until Microsoft ♥♥♥♥ the bed, their OS will dominate the market. Linux isn't going to rise until more people take an interest in it. I certainly haven't and likely never will.

Microsoft's days are numbered.
3% / 12 years is 0.08333 percent per year.
Linux is a slow but unstoppable force.

100% get that. But there just isn't competition in the OS market right now. Microsoft is far too embedded, from businesses to people like me who don't want to run something like Linux on our PCs.
WHat's worth noting is that this sort of thing builds with momentum. The more people that switch to linux the more people that will switch to linux. Most people shy away because it has a rep as being tech nical complicated and limited in what it can do and what software can run. and then there's the drivers.
These things have all been addressed over time but the myth still prevails.
This is sorta why I see steam/Valve being a great step forward. They are showing that you can game on linu.
Doesn;'t help that ms is struggling to release a WIndows version that people actually want. and they basically decide to release a windows version whenever they need a revenue boost.
Windows 11 and 12 may be the tipping point though. The hardware limitations are a big issue. I've heard more and more companies and government institutuions seriously considering linux.
