Something VERY unfair and frustrating has always happened on Steam
Aside from the constant bugs that occurred immediately after the client "update" of about two years ago, which for me did not add ANY improvement but only pointless RAM consumption and system slowdowns on my PC, which among other things is very expensive and powerful, from the day of the "update" I noticed the impossibility to invite friends to play ANY game because the overlay closes for no reason after each invitation.

But besides these and many other serious bugs and wrong choices that I don't have time to list there is something even more unfair and frustrating(which denotes a total lack of empathy by Steam) that has always happened, which is the following:

the games I wishlist, once they're no longer available in the Steam store, no longer show the game's name, in favor of the "This item is no longer available" writing.
As a result, I've missed out on playing dozens of titles, because, as I said, Steam doesn't keep the game's name on my wishlist, and simply adds that completely useless writing.

Now,people who work at Steam, I ask you the fateful question:
if that item is "no longer available", what's the point of writing "it's no longer available" if we don't even know what game that writing refers to?

Hereby, I ask Steam to no longer write that writing to those games, but to directly delete them from the wishlist, at least we forget that we have lost the possibility of playing those games now with unknown names which we had carefully watched the gameplays, then selected, added, and carefully ordered to our wishlists, wasting days and days of time that will never come back

I'd like to think that buit yeah organizing a massive wishlist can take a couple days. Like once your wishlist spikes past 500 entries

To answer the question OP. The reason might be a kindness. If they simply remove it you might forget that the game every existed, that maybe you imagined it. At least seeing it's no longer available confirms that the game did exist and retains the name of the game so you can look for it elsewhere.

I don't understand anything you wrote.

What do you mean "Steam was hiding them"? It still hides the titles, as I wrote.

In my case,I spent months selecting titles from thousands, and a hundred or so disappeared.

Not for me; I watch all the gameplay and then I make up my mind whether to add it or not, I'm extremely selective.

You're missing the point: I was being provocative; to point out that the Steam system is so flawed that deleting titles directly from the wishlist, rather than seeing the useless message that "an item is no longer available" without knowing which one, wouldn't make much difference. How much experience do you have and old are you all, to not understand something so basic and incontrovertible for most users?

Try clearing cache, or redownload client files maybe it resolve issue, or not, could even be game itself if it doesn't happen in other games.

- To clear cache, it's in the steam settings, atm I forget where exactly, but you find it.

- To redownload client files, head to where steam install delete everything except for steamapp folder and steam.exe once done run steam.exe and test.

Not sure if this still works, but friend of mine made this site. Just put in your steam ID number, or profile URL to find your account, make sure wishlist is public that it. And this should be able tell you what those removed games name were.

Who knows, and likely might not get answer here as they rarely reply on here.

Originally when game get removed, you just don't see a price tag for it anymore from the wishlist page. But ever since they changed two things it's under the same trigger.

A) If game not got your region, and you had wishlist it show as unavailable.

B) If game has it store page removed, or delisted from sale, it show as unavailable.

As said, they got hidden on the wishlist. They were not visible, at all. Now, they keep their place, meaning I can find out which one it is.

I'm happy with that cause it helps me better manage things.
