I can't buy stuff on steam anymore
So today I attempted to buy Space Marine 2.

In order to do so, I typed in my new credit card's information, and the security code, then entered two passwords to access the banking app on my cell phone in oder to verify the purchase. Then steam asked me to enter a 6-figure password. I have a 4-figure password for my credit card and a 5-figure password for my banking account. But I have no idea what that new password is or how I get it. Steam says I can select it myself, which I tried, to no avail.

I then tried to set up a PayPal account. Long story short, after hours of trying, I did not succeed because I do not get the final confirmation email. To none of my three working email accounts.

I just can't do this anymore. I spend my life typing passwords into cell phones and computers and nothing works. I hate the modern world and want the 19th century back.

Contact Steam Support.

Also, the 19th century is 1800-1899.

Who wouldn't want to return to the 20th century?

World War I, chemical warfare, the Great depression, dictatorships, World War II, The Spanish Flu, The Holocaust, USSR, reoccurring famine, genocide and civil war in many parts of the world and natural disasters, the Cold War, HIV and AIDS epidemic, terrorisms, etc.

Sounds like a blast

And for the 21th century's sake, I'm darned glad that most likely you're being prevented from using your credit card to buy stuff on Steam. Instead try using a debit card, which in the longer run of things will be far more cost efficient to your wallet as well (i.e., no loan's rate having to be paid afterwards). :winter2019happybulb:

And also for the record, this nearly 50 years old user never had an issue acquiring stuff upon Steam using both e-banking systems on my smartphone, although I honesly prefer when they simply go without those to cut any eventual middle man's shannannigans. :baa:

As someone said here, you should try to contact the Steam Support. Explain the situation to them. You can even create the ticket for a certain purchase doing the following steps:

Support -> Purchases -> "I can't complete my purchase on the Steam Store" -> Game or software -> select the transaction.

Did you have this problem in the past?

Even ion the US there should be options to pay everything at once at the end of the month, with no additional costs.

@ Topic.

Could the code you should enter the 3dSecure (or how your card provider calls it) code for the CC?
That should usually get a push notification if the app of the bank is installed or a redirection in the browser to you bank site

Or maybe the steam guard code (think it is 6 digits on that too......it's quite some time i had to use it as i use the qr option)

Why let your debt accrue interest when you simply pay it off right away for no additional cost?

No I didn't. In the past, my credit card did not require additional verification via smartphone; the 3-digit-security code was all I had to enter, and the transaction would be complete. It's not so much a steam issue as rather a credit card / online banking thing, I assume

Indeed so. Not a single smartphone anywhere. Must've been heaven
28-32 years of life expectancy. If you were Black in America, you were most likely enslaved in the South. If you were in Europe, you would most likely have been marched across the continent in one Napoleon's battles, or being killed by his armies. If not, caught up in one of the many revolutionary wars that took place around the world. Lots of medicines were created and given out like candy causing adverse effects and death to many through overdose. Washing clothes was a manual process for most people, and access to toilet paper was scarce. To say it lightly, life was hard.

But no cellphones must have made it all seem like a paradise.

what they need to do is bring back taking a carbon paper imprint of your embossed credit card and then sending that by mail to the card company so you'll actually get your game months later. sounds much easier than this so-called convenience.

There is a famous photo from ~1880, of a Scottish village congregation right after mass. There's probably 40 people on the photo, they all wear their sunday clothes, and about 5 of them have shoes.

Obviously life was quite different in the 19th century, but at least people didn't need to get angry at their cell phones

It could be, does this happens with other online purchases?

Sure you would also never be bored as work day was about 12 to 16 hours no breaks

Of course there were breaks. Adolph von Menzel's painting "Eisenwalzwerk" ("Ironworks"?) shows workers having a break, their children bringing them food. They eat right next to the running machine...
