They will appear in the summary at the very bottom under the Timeline View & Grid View tab. However, demo games are not counted toward the total number of games you've played, nor toward the achievements earned, etc.

From what I've observed, it seems that sometimes a few demo games, or games labeled as playtests, might be counted in your total games played. It could be a system error that counts games incorrectly, or maybe I just don't know. Steam Support isn't really sure either and usually gives only general answers, so it's probably not worth your time.

I'm looking at a friend's profile, which shows 166 games played and 45 demos, while the total number of games in the overall summary is 210, of which 45 are demos. That leaves 165 games, so I don't know where the 166 comes from.

This is regarding 2024. The previous years are even more poorly organized.

Thank you for your reply! What a shame that it is not clear cut. If even the Steam Support don't know how their system works, who would? Considering how much emphasis Steam puts on showcasing demos these days, you'd think that they would play a bigger part in the Replays.
