What kind of nonsense is this?
"This app has been retired and is no longer available on the Steam store"

- Marvel Avengers - The Definitive Edition
- London 2012
- The Crew

And the list goes on! Shame on those cursed devs and shame on Steam as well for allowing this to happen! There should be some kind of customer protection FFS!!!

sometimes, a game goes away. this can be because, among other things:
- the company selling it dies
- licensing expires
- it is no longer viable to run servers it relies on
- your sins have become so widely known that even game publishers must punish you

The customers who bought those games are protected by Steam. Anyone who has those games already in their libraries can still download/install/play those games.

And it's not up to Steam to dictate whether games are listed on the Store or not. Valve doesn't own those games.

I don't play those games personally. But, if those are solo, no biggie. You still keep the game it's just that others can't buy it anymore due to whatever having expired yknow?

If those are "online-only"... well... for a time. Gamers were screaming from the rooftops that buying into these was a bad idea. People still did it anyway. Can't really complain when you are expected to know that an online game will eventually die.

A fate quite common in MMOs. And all the money spent is gone from the moment the switch is flicked off. And all of it is absolutely legal because there is no law that forces a company to support an unviable product or to support it indefinately.

Just get them elsewhere.

The best part about The Avengers game is that it was $5 before delisting AND that its P2P, anyone that has it can play together. :hulk::captain_america::iron_man::thor_hammer:

London 2012 was likely licensing.

The crew being retired for The Crew 2 makes sense. TC2 was also $1 a while ago, they gave some good vehicles etc during that time too.

Well, Valve could at least implement a better feedback system here so that users are notified when an "owned" product "disappears" from their library, even if it is only marked with a "!" flag, next to the product name. Especially in large libraries, you only notice such things by chance, if at all.

don't you get an account notification when a game is actually removed from a library? op is complaining about games being delisted for sale.

If you don't notice it at all, it obviously doesn't affect you does it?

What game was removed from the library?

Games removed from the library usually come with a notification. When it isn't the user "removing" ie hiding it or a hijacker, it's typically for a key being obtained through fraud. In some rare instances, a dev/publisher pulling keys incorrectly and giving new keys for those affected.

Delisted games, if you have it you can download it; it's still in your library. I still have The Avengers as I got it before being delisted.

Nitpicking now, but my mistake. I still mean from the respective shop. Sure, owned stuff is still in the library, but as I said, when a title is removed, you don't usually notice it in your library.

Actually, no, not really.
As you probably did not know, The Crew is an online only game, and its servers went offline.

So, nobody can play it now, whatever gimmicks/gymnastics they decide to try. :)
Only the newer The Crew 2 can be played.

(And yes, not Steam's fault, that part is correct.)

You keep saying library when we're talking about the store. Why would your library tell you about a game that was delisted from the Store?

And still, there isn't anything more Steam can do. I game could be pulled from the store right now and Steam can't do anything about it.

Anyone up for playing London 2012?
