What makes you think that when they are done testing & tweaking the 7 day trade ban & item protection feature via cs2 that they wont apply it site wide?
And even if something is trying to steal your items, you still can stop this when see trade confirmation in mobile app.
In my experience, the only issue with this sites is 1-3 hours, rarely 24 hours wait time untill I receive trade with stuff I buy which is still acceptable cuz i immediately receive instantly tradable item
Actually read GabeN's entire quote.

The service Steam provides is nice on paper but if everything barely works and features just become more and more restrictive as time goes on, there is no reason to continue using Steam or spending money on it.
Especially with all the region locking, age confirmation and censorship stuff thats been happening over the last few years.
If the ability to trade/buy/sell items was removed, it would cause all the issues of people getting their accounts highjacked would lessen a great deal.
