I just want a dev to answer this question.

A lot of my games are on mobile which I use steam as a way to login.

Look my passwords are extremely hard if someone can figure it they can have the account.

But let me ask you this.

How does one scan a QR code if the steam mobile app is on the same phone?

Do I snap my phone in half and scan the code that wants me to scan on the same phone?

Not the many people are running around with 2 phones and just to authenticate steam is not worth getting another phone.

I understand that steam mobile app is mainly used for PC players but yall gotta do something with authenticating mobile games that use the same interface as PC.

Like an option to manually enter a code.

That or let us use our own authenticator like Google as they allow both QR and manual entry.

Its so troublesome every time you guys decide to make us re-sign in.

There should be ZERO reason for steam to ask us to resign in and a few months before we personally AUTHORIZED the device. The only time it should ever ask to resign in if it is it a new device.

I had zero issues just using a password login with email authentication but in most cases manual entry is more efficient then scanning a QR code.
