No Man's Sky doesn't have DLC. They are regular content updates, and unlike DLC, you cannot opt out of the things you don't want.
An example: Fallout 4 anniversary edition. It's neither a scam nor a good deal. IMO it's a terrible deal. 60 euros for basically everything I already had + (basically) some skins. I saw the new "edition" on my feed and went to look at it. Saw the price and immediately said "no way". But I still was curious to see what was new. And my opinion that it was a terrible deal went even further. For probably 99% of the target audience of Fallout 4, nobody should have been surprised about what they got. They wanted to buy, fair enough, but nobody should have given it a bad review because of "poor" content. They should have not bought it in the first place. I look before I buy. I do proper research. Now, if users don't take the time to protect their money, it's not Valve's fault. People aren't that smart at times, so why should Valve cover for their mistakes? Developers are always going to be "greedy". Some more than others, but they have to keep the lights on, pay the bills and appease their investors. It's in their nature to make money. It shouldn't be human nature to blindly spend money. Just like at railroad crossings, stop, listen and look.
Ark released paid DLC that was another whole map while they were in Early Access back in the day and I will not purchase another title from them ever again.
I still have that bug in my ass as well. Never again do they get da monies.
That line is actually quite simple: Do I think it's a good way to spend my money? I see games (or companies) that push DLCs, season passes and other BS like that, I just don't give them the time, let alone the money. And that is why, for the most part, I don't get "new" games. I prefer to let the simmer and see where they go. Usually they get cheaper too.
I played FX3 and FX2 and now they want you to pay again for old games
and they are always bringing out new games.... for FX and there other stuff...
these days it can total ..into close to half a grand if not more... and it will be more
if it keeps on going...
soooooo..... depends on your interest and whether
you have faith in the quality of what you are being asked to pay for.
but i could be wrong..
