How antihacks work.
Seems there are a lot of people complaining about some devs doing horrible jobs of stopping hackers.

But I have to question do you know how antihacks work?
It may have changed but I used to know.

By definitions. Antihacks scan running apps when your game loads looking for known hack scripting.
The developer updates the antihack with the latest definitions and for a short time hacks don't work. Then the hacker updates the hack. And the dev updates the definitions and...

And why stopping hackers is considered wackAmole.

Most people don’t care about the technical side, they care that they paid for a product and expect that product to be a fair play experience. How the devs go about getting their game into a playable state is their business.

Unfortunately, correct. This behavior applies to both regular users and developers. Many developers don't even know what their own product does. In special cases when they know, it often happens that they generally ignore verifiable facts or sometimes even lie.

Many users here are primarily interested in games, fun, and their own pleasure. Anything beyond that is sometimes even met with harsh insults. Even when improvements are made, e.g. for safety, they are often taken for granted.

Serious criticism? Nah, even developers say things like, "I don't care, but how did you like my game?" or "So what? I'm operating in a legal gray area, I'm allowed to do that." Responsibility? What's that?

Many developers and publishers here also think that they are untouchable on Steam, whether it's product safety, customer safety or other legal issues.

That's where one really have to begin with.

I've been at this as long as there has been a this to be at.
I'm sure I've had my hands deeper in the gust of a game them most here.
But antihacks work by definitions and why they are so easy to get around.

I've not heard of any viable solution, people can blame the devs but BF6 was hacked in beta. It was hacked the day it dropped. From what I have read redsec may be the most heavily hacked on released game in the franchise's history. So what developers are doing now seems pretty ineffectual. It also seems all we have.

If some one has read some viable solution please link it.

No business in their right mind would ever prevent it permanently (Even it can be done), It's all about money. No point selling a cure when you can have addicts coming back for more.

I don't feel like playing games with cheating going on. It ruins the experience. The saying a few bad apples can ruin it for everybody.

It's called Anti-Cheat, not antihack.
Second, the Anti-Cheat needs sample data of various versions of the cheats to be able to detect said cheats.

Anti-Cheats are not some miracle cure, there is a ton of work involved.

Why would you even think that? Many games have failed because of hacker issues not because the games were bad. If pubg cured the hacker issue they would be #1 immediately.

Then you would only be playing single player games.

No it's anti-hack. All hacks are cheats but not all cheats are hacks.

"Anti-hack: The protection of computer systems and data from unauthorized intrusion, which can include software, hardware, and practices designed to prevent or counter hacking attacks".

Teaming in single player is a cheat, not a hack. Taking advantage of a game glitch is a cheat not a hack.

Second is right, yea that is how it works. They get the script data from the game saves on the server.

It's a fingers and thumbs thing. All hacks are cheats but not all cheats are hacks.

Sorry, misnomers are a thing for me. Words have actual means if they didn't bob beard it yup dog car boarder, right?

I always think that some developers even sell cheats for their games on the side. Like rockstart for example. I think some of the developers made many of the cheats for their GTA series, but finding proof is hard. But yea, people only care about if the game works, and that it is fun.

Why on earth would you think that?
prettymuch, putting anything client sides means its just a matter of time before it's figured out. Im worried about the push for Kernal level instalation, which has gone into safedisk or whatever install, meaning you have to edit your Bios. Were you using that to now activate bitlocker(why that is allowed to be sold I will never understand)? Too bad, you aint playing BF6 than.
