Help accessing 9yo account
I no longer have access to the email or phone number on this account, however i know the number, password, email, address all associated with this account.

Ive tried contacting steam, and they keep asking for steam gift codes i used 9+ years ago as verification. I keep saying I have no clue as it was so long ago, but I get the same automatic response of needing the gift codes.

Any else had a situation like this and been able to get through? Thanks!

If you can't provide the information Steam Support are asking for, then you won't be able to access your account.

Someone who needs them to prove ownership of their account. Which is going to be the case if you didn't use another payment method or used any other CD key to activate a game (like the original retail release of Half Life 2).

12 year old you shouldn't have been on Steam in the first place.

Right from the agreement you obviously didn't read:

Steam is not intended for children under 13

The only reason they have that is to avoid getting refund requests in mass, as they would to revert every single transaction if the parents did not allow those (in fact, depending om country that can also be the case until they reached the legal adult age).

BTW: As far as i know it is nowhere mentioned before you have such a case that you should keep those pieces of paper.....so in theory that would open up the way for some legal cases.....

No. The reason they have that is COPPA. Every individual violation of COPPA is a fine of over 10,000 USD. So no site that collects user data allows under 13s, because they don't want to be hit with those fines.

Doesn't matter what you think. COPPA is an enacted law that carries severe fines. This is why Valve will instantly ban any account of any user that claims to be under the age of 13 if they have no information to the contrary.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_Online_Privacy_Protection_Act

Will give you more information as well as some of the fines that have been levied.
