Make sure you're on the latest Steam version.
Then check the settings mentioned in my guide to see if spellcheck is turned off or not.

Did you try the troubleshooting steps described in my guide?

I can report, broken for me, too. The fix does not work for me. Very annoying.

No, there was no fix, at least not for the non-functional context menu.
That issue has existed since September and is still broken for everyone.

The fix mentioned in the Nov 17th patchnotes refers to a different issue (no suggestions appear at all) which had nothing to do with this thread.
