VPN to bypass UK corruption
i have been with steam for over 20 years and now they require Credit card information. for any game rated 18 and over.

first of all American companies are not under UK law's they have there own law's, which i agreed to there rules when i first started with steam.
so i now live in a corrupt contrary run by a government that is corrupt, falsifies information, takes bribes, and has MP's that have committed TREASON which is a crime punishment by death.

if i am using a VPN showing i no longer appear to be apart of a corrupt government do i still have to provide a credit card so i can be tracked. the reason i ask is i no longer have a credit card and i refuse to allow UK banks also run by a corrupt company. to track my spending.

any one that lives in the UK will tell you that you can not even take money out of your account with out having proof firstly. not for ID but what exactly you are spending YOUR money on.

long live the REAL UK

Your account can be banned if you use a VPN to mask your region....have fun if that should happen as you then won't be able to buy stuff anymore or use community features like the discussion area or every mp game which uses Steamworks features.

If you want to get your account locked/terminated for bypassing regional restrictions, sure, go for it.

Yes, you will still need to provide a UK issued credit card to prove you are over 18. VPNs have not changed Steam store region for existing Steam accounts since 2018. Plus, if you attempt to make a purchase with the VPN active and Valve detected it, you are committing payment fraud and you will lose you ability to buy directly on Steam and to activate keys bought outside of Steam.

You only have three options:
1 - Use a UK issued credit card to prove you are over 18.
2 - Don't use a credit card and accept you cannot purchase any affected game.
3 - Move to a different country, get a job, a billing address, and a payment method issued in that country.

You cannot circumvent this UK law through using a VPN as far as Steam is concerned.

Mate, your comment contains a lot of nonsense

Perhaps you should spend more time touching grass instead of watching GBeebies

That is if you are indeed a real person and not some bot spreading nonsense about us not being able to withdraw money from a bank without permission

Erm, no.

It's only for games rated Mature, which is not the same as 18.

And Steam maintains the country you first opened the account under. I suspect that if you email support you can change the country, but if you get caught lying you are likely to have your account closed.

Support will not change your Steam store region for you. There is already an approved method for doing it. It involves physically being in the region you wish to change to and supplying an appropriate valid billing method and billing address for that region when making a purchase.

for now it's only for games rated mature, but it could easily be pushed onto other games too, it's stupid to require people get a credit card when theirs other easier alternatives to use for age verification.

It's really down to the fact that Steam trusts people to be honest, and of course they aren't. If enough parents complain, then it will happen, yes. But, oddly, most parent's don't care about violence.

When I first started with steam I was in Canada and had no problem changing it to the UK many years ago so, still have the same email. So all those people saying you can’t, you’re wrong.
I also have an address in Canada.
I’ll just change it back when I go back over.

VPN however do not change your region. You have to have a valid payment method in said region.

Valve has been cracking over the years on region hoping.

Ermm he's right
I tried to pull £4000 from my bank and they wanted to know with proof what I was gonna use that money for
its part of the aml laws and to stop people and the banks from being scammed
It's been common practice for a while now
Maybe you should stop watching bbceebies
Because it's not false at all
and sounds like you haven't withdrawn anything higher than your benefits :VBCOOL:

Last part was a joke don't get offended

Worse. Much worse. Access to the account may be terminated.

You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content, to purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account.
