SteamOS still has not been officially released for PC. Truthfully you don't really need it. Any gaming-friendly Linux distro would suffice. Then install Steam if it isn't pre-installed and run it in Big Picture Mode. That's basically what SteamOS really is anyway.

When Valve is ready to release it, they will announce it and every gaming/tech news outlet will talk about it.

I asked the sane question not that long ago and the answer was is that it sucks on PCs and especially terrible on nvidia gpu's

Why focusing on SteamOS? What's wrong with Bazzite or PopOS or Mint (or a couple others I'm too lazy to list)?
