Now your friend accepts them thinking they are your friends of friend then your friends gets hacked then you assume this friend you have played with online is your friend but it turns out it's the hacker who took control of your friend's account pretending to be your friend.
Since you trust this other friend of yours who is a victim of the hacker. You'll trust what he tells you then you end up getting hacked too. This is how they infiltrate your circle and take control of Steam accounts despite having 2 step authentication and a strong password.
and an old thing too.
Yeah this person says it right. Only accept acquaintances (person you met matches ago)
People here on Steam knows this scam in less than a year or even a week yet here you are TOOK 8 YEARS what the point of this scam.
You should know people like you or any other could accidentally click the link or give in just to shut someone up so its still worth a try eitherway. It's all about social manipulation and never about intelligence here.
And you're too stupid to know what they gain hence other methods makes you vulnerable to this type of scam. You have joined groups and have your INVENTORY in PUBLIC to show off this scammers you have valuable items in your Steam account. It only takes multiple attempts one after the other for you to fall for other scamming attempts. You're too ignorant to know the rest.
Hey smartass, your chat logs is stored in the account settings and on Steam Chat mobile if you don't know and with the help of AI it's possible to impersonate your friends with the way they type.
They're taking the easiest method first before the hardest one to reel you in.
It's a huge underground black market out there. They can brute force their way in if they want to.
You join in Trading Bot groups and public your inventory, that's how you get attracted by scammers.
I have no info much on TF2 but more on CS. I don't even think TF2 got valuable items but that's just my opinion. I'm just using CS logic to TF2 especially they're all under Valve.
