About ID age verification
As Google ( THERE ARE people who have reported that Google is asking for age verification via ID when using the Google search engine. ) & Youtube require age verification via ID, I wonder what Steam/Valve will do? Will Valve remain our friend or will they show us their true face?

Valve doesn't do things to be our friend. Valve has been adding age verification when required by law as they HAVE to in order to stay in business. As soon as its required for your region it will be added. Valve doesn't have a say in it, if its required by law their choices are to not let you use their service or add it.

That's funny because even in a private company like Valve, government regulations of any kind can penetrate the private company. All countries in the world should change their Wikipedia entries to reflect that they are tyrannical states where human rights do not exist.

Regulations are needed for companies for many reasons otherwise they could be allowed to pollute as much as they want or force children to work for them.

This is nothing new and age restrictions are not new either for many online sites and services.

And who regulates the government? The government itself claims to be a separate entity from the average person, as does a company. In fact, companies and governments are the same thing. The same formula of oppressors and oppressed. This planet is a garbage dump.

Age checks exist forever in retail stores.
Why should the same laws which count there not be valid online too?

And just because people still think/wish that the Internet is the wild West where no laws exist does not make that a reality.

So the only thing one should tell you is, stop being childish and mature up already.

Technically the voters regulate the government, that's the whole point of regular free elections (where they apply). Of course that means you accept that whomever you vote for is not going to align perfectly with your views.

Why is the justice system politically affiliated, and why isn't Epstein's list being released? I think you're the only childish one here. Were you raised without parents?

This is an online game store. If you want to complain about your government, contact your congressman or whatever it is you have.

Exactly. It's a video game store, so you and the rest of you keep your age verification IDs away from video games.
Congressmen should defend human rights, not sit on private islands and violate people's privacy with age checks using ID. Moreover, the question/topic I raised is quite difficult to find because hours have passed and you can't find it in the discussion list so quickly. Who are you to discourage me from asking questions?

You do realize age restrictions for video games were in place before digital stores and the internet was around just like when you go to a store and buy alcohol?

It's just with digital stores it's far too easy to bypass this restriction and age checks were only going to be a matter of time because of that.

If you don't agree you need to vote better or get laws passed / revoked that you don't like as that's how the legal system works.

Got absolutely nothing to do with being "our freind" and is a legal or convenience matter.

You can't willingly overlook laws, or you'll pay for it.
