Most of those sites act really fast in returning your money (as they rather give that back then have notices on payment sites), and if they do not care you still can open a case and most likely will get your money back that way.
No, do not name them. It falls under advertising, something you can get in trouble with.
It's just common sense, bro. Not an attack on you. You made a bad decision. Learn from it. It's not like anyone here can help you. And it's not like Valve is the company that screwed you. So you're in the wrong place for any actual solution.
Some grey market resellers are quite popular but are also the source of a lot of headaches for users and developers. And of courde have a lot of people who 'have used it lots without a problem'
Not exactly. But sometimes the consequences of dealing with shady or questionable entities is to learn a lesson about getting involved with them in the first place. Depending on the circumstance and how much effort you want to put into something, there might be limited options. There's no golden hammer answers here.
A well known grey market site is still a grey market site. And there's always going to be an asterisk. Past transactions don't guarantee all other sellers or transactions will be legitimate or error free. And when problems come up you get to see some of the issues you ignored so long as things worked out when you have to deal with grey market support.
There's a lesson there.
Ultimately depending on how your support ticket goes with the grey market site, you may just need to resort to a chargeback or whatever anti-fraud systems your FOP has. A lot of grey market sites will waste your time and send you on wild goose chases in the hopes you do give up and just live with results you got.
Your opinions on what grey market sites ought to do aren't wrong. But your opinions might not have much power in a situation like this. They already know what they're doing. They could operate 100% legit. But they don't. There's a lesson there too.
It is common sense. If you have to question if they are an authorized seller than you probably shouldn't risk it. Nobody said you should suffer in silence or to shut your mouth. Chika Ogiue is right though, you made a mistake and nobody here can help you. You should learn from this. You are in the wrong here. Sure you got scammed but it was a choice to buy from an unauthorized retailer. Doesn't matter how popular they are, it still isn't an authorized seller.
