Why are people dissapointed of the current steam sales?
The discounts are not that bad, but maybe it's because not all games are discounted. some of the discounts only range from 10% to 50% which is not that bad, but usually the cheaper games gets the 60%-90% discount treatment. i get why people are mad and disappointed.

The people complaining about prices and discounts are probabl only interested in AAA games released very recently is my suspicion yes.

It's tradition, now. Each sale is magnitudes worse than the one before it.

Just ignore them. If you find something worth buying, enjoy playing it.

Because people like
a) ranting
b) having the attention span of a demented fly

The last thing has always been better if you've long forgotten how it actually was.

It's pretty much tradition at this point, every new sales is always "the worst sales ever".

But more than that, long-term Steam users might find sales disappointing because they have been there for a long time and they already got most of the games they wanted, so whatever remains may not have the discount they expected.

And there's also some delusionnal people expecting the last AAA game released last month to somehow have a -90% discount.

It's because the attractive ones without launchers and other scams won't go down anymore as they used to, while less of them have been developed the last years.

No, I still don't want to connect my account to Microsoft and no, I won't download launcher XY - unfortunately It's especially those conpanies trying to hook you to their ecosystem due to sales.

If an older game (or a newer game-but especially an older game-think at least 5 years old if not twice that or more) isn’t at (or even close to) it’s all time low (per Steam db), why should I buy it?

Or if one of those older games IS at it’s all time low, but is regularly discounted for that same price and hasn’t hit a new all time low for years-what’s my incentive to buy it during THIS sale?

Those are my main complaints. A few games meet my criteria and I’ll probably end up picking up at least a handful, but I’ll also probably pick up more from Fanatical because even during the Steam sale, many of the sale prices on Fanatical are simply better.

When people see the word sale they automatically dream of 90% discount on games they have on their wishlist, while oddly any discount means you are not paying full price. It is a saving.

not buying means saving 100% and not being disappointed in your purchase later, though
i do like seeing games i never heard of being on the steam sales. i read the reviews, i buy them, try them and sometimes i find gems that i wouldn't have seen or heard of because of the steam sales.
trend chasers will complain that their 1 week ago released game isnt more than 10% off, but those who actually want games will be happy a classic is at 80% off.
Cuz it very identical each time but I dont really buy stuff anymore so aint a problem for me

COMPLAINING IS NATURAL IN HUMAN SPECIES
Honestly, a lot of people who complain are the ones who have been on Steam for years and have big libraries, and they seemingly forgot that's the case for them. Hard to find "good" discounts when you already have most of the games that actually interest you.

I rarely buy from the major seasonal sales these days because that's the case for me as well, but it's not really a huge deal for me. I don't exactly need more games that I won't play lol.

Gamer buys a game.
Gamer plays the game. They enjoy it.

Next sale comes around. Game is on sale.
But Gamer has already played the game!

Oh no! There are no games that the Gamer likes on sale because they've already bought it!

Repeat process one thousand times.
Each steam sale is always going to appear worse than the last, you bought everything you wanted already.

If the only thing left is games you don't want, it's going to keep looking worse and worse.
