Valve needs to become a payment processor.
Sure Valve has some rough edges but compared to most everywhere else? easy decision. Valve's leadership have been more pro-gamer and pro-privacy than most and quite simply, i trust Steam more than i trust any of the banks.

I would rather go to a store and swipe my card to pay with SteamBucks, than to pump the banks full of my data everywhere i go and everywhere i want to make a payment.

I cant stand it in the UK right now, being afraid of what i purchase or where i purchase it, worried everyday if my bank is going to stop processing my payments because i went to KFC because they took a sponsorship deal from Mcdonalds and suddenly my bank decides it doesnt like me going to KFC. You get the idea.

I need a payment processor i can trust, right now i dont have one.

I don't think Valve has a hundred billion dollars + to invest in starting a credit card company.

Valve aren't a financial institution. They're not going to become one so you can buy a few niche porn games. Even if they did become one, they would still need to rely on acquiring banks, which as we've seen with PayPal, can still refuse to handle transactions. The only solution is to convince governments to step in and establish laws and regulations the prohibit payment processors from refusing to process payments. Good luck with that in a country like the UK that thinks you're children who need protecting from yourselves.

Gabe is doing all sorts of crazy stuff in vr, sea exploration, already, I bet he could set up a free speech censorship resistant card system if he wanted to but his company is doing so much great work already.

For real, Gabe's already doing what he can to protect our info already with the Credit Card system, but a lot of us particularly those with disability cant get credit cards, we need something more accessible.

Very specific adult only sexual content games were removed. Other adult only sexual content games are still available.

None of the games you listed are classified as adult only sexual content games.

As for Valve being a payment processor, it is always easy to spend another's money when it is not your own.

"Oh, because we want to sell games about rape and incest on our platform and are willing to tank our reputation and possibly kill our entire platform in the meantime just to allow a few dozen games to be sold."

Collective Shout specifically targeted very specific adult only sexual content games in their appeal to Visa and Mastercard. Both already had those clauses but not related to games.

Censorship has only ever increased in the past 15 years but sure.
Horror games got removed from itch but you're a censor so.
