This seems like it should be automatic (but it clearly isn't). If you can't see a forum, you shouldn't be getting notified about new posts in it.

did think so too but as steam got bad and more bad over updates including this really bad family share and barely working steam broadcast this must be one of these misstakes never to be fix

There is one thing you could try, but unfortunately, you'd do it at your own risk. And that is to use a VPN in conjunction with a web browser to log into your account and see if that will let you visit the community hubs long enough to unsub from them. However, if community hub access is based on your Steam store region and not your IP address, this will not work. The only other alternative is to try contacting Steam Support and seeing if they can help.

Family share and what not has absolutely nothing to do with the community.

Also: if a game is no longer available then this does not automagically imply that their community aka gamehub also gets blocked. I happen to proudly own several games which the EU suddenly took an offense to and lo and behold... while the game is no longer accessible to me to purchase my purchase (previous purchase?) is still avaialble to me, as is the games community hub.

Yah, pardon me for laughing it out right now about tons of people claiming that Steam intrudes on our rights and whatever nonsense while I have clear proof that when push comes to shove.. the gamer rights prevail.

^ this game is no longer accessible to me in the EU. But because I bought this game long before the hypocrisy started.. I can still download and play it.

And I also need to correct myself.. as of right now I also can also no longer access their community hub, that used to be different. So my guess: maybe a blocked hub? Doesn't surprise me, the EU does not shy away from full on censorship.

My 2 cents => People complaining about Steam and consumer rights and what not have no idea what they're talking about. No idea how far Steam takes this, or tries to.

I don't care what anyone thinks of this game. I have 0 hours into it truth be told, the main reason I bought & supported it is because I had a hunch that the hypocrites were going to take their shot at it. Lo and behold: they did.

Before this I could still access the community hub, but even that is now denied to me. Pure censorship.

And here I was... thinking that censorship only applied to dicatorships.

They won't. VPNs only cause accounts to get locked when you try to make a purchase with one -- which is something you shouldn't be doing. Using one for the community isn't going to cause a problem.

Only if you purchase stuff, because then you're actually violating real policies.

Vacations are a thing you know; where you suddenly access your stuff from another location. I never heard of people getting banned from that.

I live in the Netherlands and yet I could still safely log on and install my games on a laptop while I was in Scotland. (which even made me leave the EU).

I'm still here, as you can see.

It all depends in the end on how Valve implemented this system which is only used for a handful of regions. If it was like the original Steam Families, then it's IP based. There is only way to know for sure: someone in an affected region testing this and finding out.
