I dont suddenly need Steam to ask who is playing.

Steam should know only one account has ever played on this machine, there are no other accounts to register, there is no sharing going on. The idea to ask which of my single accounts is playing seems rhetorical? Maybe cross train the idiot who thinks annoying people is good business, cause that is annoying asf.

Or maybe try looking in the settings and disabling it?

Settings > Interface > Ask which account to use each time Steam Starts

Occasionally Steam will prompt me about who is playing when it is only this account. Seems to be when there's some connectivity issues with Steam's servers. I think I've seen the prompt maybe 4 times.

I've never seen this prompt in my life until the last several days when it started to pop up at first Steam launch every day. Corresponding setting is disabled.

Never enabled it, confirmed is disabled.

It asked me just now when logging in and it's disabled, i checked.

The option is also disabled here since the UI update and sometimes it prompts me to pick between a profile and nothing.

Just had this issue today. Its never been enabled but for whatever reason. Launching as administrator fixed the issue.
