I use pay pal all the time to buy games off my wishlist on the android mobile app. In fact I bought a couple during the Spring Sale.

Ensure all the information is CORRECT when using payment method. Don't use VPN/proxy when doing checkout.

Just incase if you're using old app to avoid using new release updated please download the latest version. Also ensure device set to the correct time by syncing with the internet.

Can try doing this, force close app, clear CACHE for the app, not the data, just the cache, then realunch app, and test. Otherwise contact support why can't use paypal on your account.

Been trying for a little while to purchase through the steam mobile app, I can use PayPal through Steam, but on the app it keep saying something went wrong when trying to continue either through the PayPal app or sending email, I don't think I'm keeping this app if it's not gonna be able to use PayPal

Try removing paypal off account via the app, and via the app, add item to cart, go to checkout, at payment option CHOOSE paypal, and sign in to paypal, and see if that is the issue. Someon had to do this because it wasn't working until they done this.

Note you CAN'T add paypal via account details as you won't see the option there, paypal saving info is only done via checkout hence the checkbox for it to save it on account, don't have to complete transaction to add paypal as a saved info.

Paypal removed itself as an available option for Steam this summer.

No it didn't in some countries it got dropped.

Paypal dropped support for OTHER currencies on Steam, currencies that still remain supported is USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, and JP, there small chance other currencies may get support again one day, or reappear in other countries that went away that using USD, or EUR, but don't hold your breath as it's Paypal that calling the shots, for now AFAIK it's 6 currencies that fully still supported, and depending on COUNTRY you're in you may get Paypal as that option if happen to be using USD, or EUR if Steam decided swap currency to those such as:

CIS USD
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

LATAM USD
Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname, and Venezuela.

MENA USD
Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Turkey, Yemen, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, and Sudan.

SASIA USD
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
