Reduced Steam Functionality

Couple of useful features seems to have disappeared from Steam. Haven't seen a why anywhere

Most recent is the removal of who likes content i (or my friends) share. Why? It was a good way to make like-minded friends or see what appeals to who. It was even useful as a quick "Hi!". I can understand some people might like the extra privacy so make it a privacy option to hide your likes, don't just remove something most people use with good will!

And the most annoying removal is from the overlay browser. Why is the context menu option to open a page in a new tab removed? Now I have to tab out of games and use a proper browser since the overlay one is useless for anything except the simplest search. edit: workarounds for this are sufficient, don't want to distract from the rest, still don't get why they had to mess with the context sensitive menu but whatever with that :/

I have a lot invested in my steam collection, it is worrying to see new marketing features coming in all the time while the actual useful features are removed!

You can hold Ctrl and click on a link to open in a new tab, like desktop browsers do.
As for that share, where was it shared? Maybe it's still there but behind a setting, maybe it just got moved. What exactly are you talking about? "Share" is somewhat generic.

Activity page, scroll to screenshot, look at it to see no more names and only the amount who rated it up.

Seems to only affect screenhots and artwork. Other Activity posts (like status updates and games bought) still have the "including X, Y and Z" attached to it.
