Some is a little cheesy, but saying it's bad is a little harsh. The Christmas balls are really nice.

Agreed, the ornaments are quite nice.

I will probably end up with a few of the emotes, as I do like them, thematically. Haven’t made up my mind if I like any of the profile backgrounds enough—not that I think they’re poorly done. I think they look quite nice; I just don’t know if I’d ever use ‘em.

I think they started outsourcing event design and implementation to some third party graphic design studio abroad a few years ago, because the event art and topics have been all over the place ever since. What do Saliens have to do with summer? What did the monster clicker game have to do with summer? And the Christmas events, emojis and backgrounds in the past few years also had nothing to with Christmas. I'm just glad we're having an actual Christmas theme this year, even though the emoji designs are bottom of the barrel tier.

Regardless, I like the art for the most part. I like the backgrounds that have been shown (especially "Evening in Steamville,") the emoticons are cute, and I think the holiday badge looks either pretty good or gorgeous (depending on the level.)

Yeah it is pretty bad IMO. Their design team is definitely one of the worst out there.

I would say none of the designs are ACTUALLY christmas themes. Most of it is related to nothing. However the art itself is terrible. Anyone could produce it. Quickly. The style is similar to many corporations push for the same exact crap art.

I've never really liked Steam's art design in the first place, though I'd say it's passable, as usual.

The stickers and emoticons and the character are meh. The profile backgrounds are probably the best of the offerings, as the architecture looks nice. I also particularly like the way the page background scrolls in multiple layers, though my browser doesn't animate those properly, unfortunately.

I somehow didn't catch the mayor's name is a pun (on "Christmas carol", of course) until someone else pointed it out in your last thread which got locked. Props to Valve on doing this. I like puns.

I dunno about you, but I definitely can't. And I've actually done some basic image editing and I know of GIMP and stuff. There's at least some texturing work I don't know how to do, not to mention that I don't know how to do proper dimensions on drawings of people even if they're really cartoony like that.

As someone who does not study design nor architecture, I say the art is pretty good.

Art is pretty good compared to everything since 2016.
