but then they say this in the sor4 steam page;
"Streets of Rage 4 builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics"
how is getting rid of running and rolling for all characters feature that was in street of rage 3 "builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics"? removing and replacing features is not building upon the classic trilogy gameplay.
It's almost impossible to beat bosses without sprints. All characters should have sprint.
...and that'd be just fine, 'cos SoR2 is most people's fave, including mine. Although 3 is really only the 'worst', 'cos a lot of the soundtrack is garbled tuneless noise compared to the marvellously moody melodies of the first 2 games.
However, with all the cheap-arse constant insta-counters and cheese armour from enemies that all gang up on you at once, each one ready to input-reading cheap shot you at any moment, unlike the originals, I still think if that crap has to be in the game, then there's no reason whatsoever that the dodging and manoeuvrability for player characters in SoR3 shouldn't be in here also.
Survival, fun as it is, exposes this more than ever. There's a very clear reason so many resort to blitz spamming. Sometimes you just gotta fight cheese with cheese. And this game's enemies lay down so much cheese themselves they could construct a second full moon out of the stuff.
