"Can not write game save." PLEASE HELP
I just got the game and I have this issue... Tried the remedy and verifying integrity. I don't see a "Save.bin" file but theres a "steam_autocloud.vdf"

An error occured while writing the save data file "C:Users\\Documents\Streets of Rage 4 Save and Config\Save.bin", preventing the game to correctly launch.

Remedy(s) to try:
-Updatre your Windows security settings to disable the "Controller Folder Access" in the "Ransomware Protection" section.
You can access it throught Windows Security / Virus & Threat Protection section.

-Press Retry.

The only way I could get around this and launch the game was to disable my antivirus completely, which is not an acceptable solution. Even adding the folder to the 'exceptions list' did nothing.

I played this game when it released with no issues. Since then the game has somehow been broken.

PS:

This is an embarrassment of a "remedy". YOU screwed up how saved games work, and your solution is to disable a portion of Windows Security? I've had actual malware that treated me with more respect...

The game just writes save files to the same folder as it did back in 2020 and nothing else. Most likely, it's a Windows 10/11 ♥♥♥♥♥♥ antivirus issue. The "Controlled Folder Access" component just got too paranoid after updates, and now it disables access to folders however it wants.
