July 2021, Game crashing/won't start up
Do the devs even come here and check the boards anymore?

Literally woke up this morning to play some more to get ready for the dlc and the game just will not start.

I went through all the different fixes (verifying files, updating windows, updating graphics drivers, changing language, uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and steam, restarting the computer, making sure it isn't in compatibility mode) none of it worked at all.

I'm running an i7, GTX 1650, never had a problem until today.

Does anybody have any idea what could be going on, and could I possibly get some help?

All my other games (except Cobra Kai, another beat-em-up, oddly enough) load perfectly.

Thanks for any help that anyone can give me as I'm going crazy over here trying to figure it out.

Well, I can only suggest going to 'Documents\Streets of Rage 4 Save and Config' to see if there is any new 'crash X date.txt' file or any other report like 'save game load error.txt' in the bottom of the folder. Because if not, it looks like the game doesn't detect any problem on boot up. Also, as a side note, I'm curious if the game despite not showing any sings of running is still showing up in the task manager or not?
Added: what beat'em is that if it's not a secret?

lol I guess I worded it wierdly, but I was saying that Cobra Kai is another beat-em-up like SOR4 (just stating that two of my beat-em-ups weren;t launching).

Either way, I found the culprit. It's a program/service called "Nahmic". It apparently comes standard on all MSI/Afterburner boards and it's supposed to help the sound in some way, but I've found a mess load of people on reddit and in other forums complaining that it won't let them run games either.

I just went to "System configuration" then the "Services" tab and disabled it and everything is running perfectly now!

Hope that this can help some other people if they run into the same issue!
