The 1.0 Release of Space Haven has gone really well, even surprising and exceeding our expectations. It is amazing to see many new players join us and seeing all the feedback we've received.

Once again we would like to thank you all for being with us and playing our game. It really is awesome to see and it's just something special to experience as a developer of a game. So thank you!

Join the Experimental Crew today and help test new builds of the game as first testers.

In the immediate near future we are looking to do the final stabilization improvements: Fix remaining bugs, optimize and improve on the experience as much as we can. Once we have the game where we want it to be in that regard we will look into future plans for the game and new content.

We are now looking for any brave volunteers to join the Experimental Crew, players who want to test new builds as first responders and report back on the performance on new updates. If you are out there, please respond to our call!

The update process is as follows:

1. A new Update is first available in the Experimental Branch.

2. Players, who do not mind playing a more unstable version, will first want to test the new update.

3. Once the Experimental versions of the new update build looks solid and stable enough we will push it out officially to all players!

NOTE! Joining Experimental branch is completely optional, and you should only do it if you are willing to risk that some new bugs are introduced, which could affect your game play and potentially break your save.

Please do not join the Experimental branch if you don't want to risk breaking your save or have the game break on you in midst of play! If you want to play a more stable version please wait for the official release of the update.Here is how you join the Experimental Branch:

• Open Steam Library.

• Right click Space Haven.

• Select Properties.

• Go to tab 'Betas' at the top.

• Select 'experimental' in the drop-down.

The Release of Space Haven has surpassed our expectations and we could not be more happier with how it has gone so far. Thank you to all of of you, old and new players, for playing our game and giving feedback.

Some pesky bugs managed to slip through to release and we are working hard to fix and improve. We've put together a first new patch and we will continue working on more updates to fix any more bugs that may pop up with time.

• Made it possible to free own crew members from NPC hypersleep chambers if they were accidentally put in there.

• Added an additional text to the mission where the Pathfinder beacon is to be picked up.

• Fixed a bug with not being able to select something in the tutorial when shift or ctrl was held down as the tutorial was transitioning.

• Fixed a problem with boarding a derelict in the tutorial with 4k monitors and 2.0 UI scale.

• Fixed an issue with the crew member occupation not being updated in the crew selection menu. The bug was only visual, the occupation was still correct when starting the game.

• Fixed an issue with one random derelict having an inaccessible room.

We have arrived! Space Haven is now Fully Released after a long journey together in Early Access. We want to give a big thank you to all of you playing our game and giving us feedback. We've strived to do our very best and keep grinding based on the feedback we've received.

We decided to take a bite-size approach to our 1.0 release and do many Release Candidate updates this year in preparation for the 1.0 Release Day. Our approach has been to continuously update this year with QOL and other updates towards the full release. We did not want to gatekeep for the release day and then have to frantically fix possible new bugs as new players play the game.

This way the game is already more tested when going live for full release, and it also allows streamers to create content of the game without having to hassle with some hidden test branches to let them play.

• Improved Logistics AI: Crew members are now able to be a little more effective at checking whether they can pick up another crate on their way to their destination, already holding a crate or two.

• Improved Trading/Transfers: Increased the airlock resource storage from 10 to 20.

• Made it not possible to take a loan from a faction if a settlement is unpaid.

• Lowered the defaults on Rogue bot, alien and nebula presence in Station Mode Normal, Builder and Peaceful difficulties. Harsh set to one step lower on Rogue bots presence.

• Fixed bugs with the Blueprint errors No Path to Storages and Waiting for other jobs to finish. (Will not directly fix this type of error in a saved game. If you load a saved game the blueprints need to be removed and placed again.)

• Added new information to home sectors in station mode related to the resources that will be available there.

• Added an extra information note to the Fate of Eden mission.

• Tutorial Improvement: Made adjustments to tutorial to close build menu when a tutorial step goes forward to make it easier to select the next item.

• Tutorial Improvement: Added another indicator to let the player know some blueprints have not yet beed placed.

• Improved Blueprints: Added the possibility to set high construct priority with many blueprints selected.

• Improved Tutorial: It was possible to lock the tutorial by having the camera out of current events and the tutorial progressed. This has been fixed.

Space Haven now has Steam Workshop enabled allowing for some basic modding and subscribing to mods directly on Steam for easy access. We want to give a big thanks to all our community members participating in the creation of the Space Haven Modloader, which is used as a launcher when playing with mods.

Space haven now has Steam Workshop enabled with mods already available to try.

Steam Workshop is now live and ready to be tested. The way it works is by having a Mod Loader acting as a launcher to launch Space Haven with mods enabled. All you need to do is join the play with mods branch and subscribe to the Mod Loader and mods in Steam Workshop.

Check out the steps below on how you can play Space Haven with mods enabled.

Playing with mods is done via a Mod Loader used for starting the game with mods enabled.

To play with mods you need to do the following steps.

1. Join the Play With Mods Branch

   1. Open Steam Library

   2. Right click Space Haven

   3. Select Properties

   4. Go to tab 'Betas' at the top.

   5. Select 'play_with_mods' in the drop-down.

2. Subscribe to Mod Loader and Mods

   1. In the STEAM CLIENT: Go to library and select Space Haven.

   2. Select Workshop.

   3. Subscribe to the Space Haven Mod Loader.

   4. Subscribe to mods you want to use.

3. Launch Space Haven and select the "Play With Mods" Launch Option.

   1. Make sure Steam has downloaded content from Steam Workshop.

   2. Try rebooting Steam if you have subscribed to the Mod Loader and it is not found.

4. The Space Haven Mod Loader will open up and you will see which mods you have enabled.

   1. If mod settings are not saved use the "Clear Quicklaunch file" button.

5. Click the launch button in the Mod Loader to launch the game with mods enabled.

If you have joined the "play_with_mods" branch you should see the above when launching the game.

You can create and upload your own mods to Steam Workshop.

Uploading mods to Steam Workshop is done using the "workshop.jar" file found in the Steam install folder of the game.

1. Navigate to: Steam\\steamapps\\common\\SpaceHaven

2. Use cmd prompt to use the workshop.jar file.

3. To see instructions. In the cmd prompt write: java -jar workshop.jar

   1. You will see instructions for making a new mod, uploading a mod and removing a mod.

   2. Making a new mod is done with the -makemod command. Make sure the mod content is directly in the created mod folder!

   3. When you have made a new mod with the command above, open up the folder and edit the "project" and "image" files to have your desired title, description and the mod image on Steam Workshop.

4. Each mod is assigned its own ID, and when subscribing to mods they are dowloaded to: Steam\\steamapps\\workshop\\content\\979110\\\[Mod_ID] (979110 is the ID for Space Haven)

5. To UPDATE a mod use the same -upload command and make sure the mod id is configured in the "project" file inside to mod folder.

We have exciting news to share. Space Haven now has a Full Release date set for May 13th. It’s been a long road to get here. It feels monumental to approach the 1.0 after all these years.

At its core, Space Haven has always been about building something piece by piece. Your ship, your crew, your own way of surviving out there. Our design philosophy has been to treat Space Haven as a creative project, without a set-in-stone roadmap, and whenever possible we've tried to incorporate wishes from you, the players.

Creating a game from scratch can be extremely challenging and time consuming. Colony sims with systems, simulations and crew AI carry with them a ton of time consuming puzzles to solve. It requires what feels like endless discussions to try to avoid the pit falls and feature creep while trying to perfect the intuitiveness, flow and pace of the game.

With Space Haven we hope that somewhere along the way, the game becomes more than just systems and mechanics for you, our players. A colony sim you enjoy to discover and play, a goal we've had in mind since the beginning. We collaborated with our composer to create a new main menu with new main menu music.

To celebrate this announcement we have once again collaborated with our composer Paul Zimmermann and implemented a new Main Menu with new Main Menu music! The update is already live so you can check it out and let us know how it feels. If you miss the old main menu music we can add it to the options in the game. Let us know!
