The game freezes
So there is my problem. At some random moment the game freezes and never continues. When it happens I can only move a cursor and the music keeps playing but my computer doesn't respond to any buttons I press. Many other old and modern games work perfectly fine. Does anyone know the solution for this?

Unfortunately, this problem exists with newer OSes. There are two things that you can do to reduce or eliminate the problem:

1) Run the game in administrator mode
2) Run the game in Windows XP (Service Pack 2) compatibility mode

Both of these are found by going to the installation folder, selecting k2.exe, right clicking and going to the compatibility tab. There, you can select compatibility options.
