Sorry to hear that. No one reported this issue before. If you're using antivirus software could you try adding reynard as "allowed" applications / games. I know that some people experienced problems with antivirus before, but in their case the keyboard was unresponsive. If this won't work could you please let me know more about your system? Which OS are you using? Looking forward for your answer and again, sorry to hear that you're encountering these issues.

I'm using Windows 10 (64-bit) and I haven't installed any antivirus software. I didn't get any kind of notice from windows defender either.

Have you tried updating your graphics driver?

I had windows attempt to find a newer driver and it said it was already up to date. I tried opening the game again to see if something had changed, and it seemed to work fine. I got to the menu screen, which I had never seen before. So I assumed that something had actually changed with the attempted update. I then closed the game to start it up again and make sure this wasn't a fluke.

It was a fluke. I tried about three more times and can't get it to work again, back to unresponsive black screen after the unity logo :P

I guess it's worth noting also that there's not any sound when the black screen comes up. I can't hear the menu music.

I tried this and then launched the game several times. Seems to have about a 50% success rate for getting to the main menu. I don't know if this is an improvement or if I was just unlucky when I tried before, since there was one time that it worked previously.

Same for me. It was not ever working before the suggested fix. After the fix sometimes it works and sometimes not.

Please fix this issue! i only have a partial success rate in launching the game and i tried everything said in here as well!

I'm also having this issue and I've tried launching it maybe 5x. I don't have the Nvidia control panel installed because it broke other things on my computer (like sound) until I uninstalled it. Would love to try out the game, but it's unplayable right now.

It's been years, just refund the game and save yourself the aggravation tbh

I just bought this game and spent the last couple days playing. It's been crashing on and off along with improbable startup. Sometimes it works fine for a bit but will randomly crash after I die and go to restart, or when it goes from one screen panel to the next, occasional opening of menu. When I try and restart I get the black screen at load up and have to close everything down and restart computer for it to occasionally work. I really sucks having to restart and loose progress constantly to glitchy crashing. Wish there was a back up save file to save progress for when this kind of thing happens, I get that it is a dungeon game and it's about seeing how far you can go but the crashes make progressing difficult on runs. I still love this game, would love to see more from it. Definitely has that Pixel Dungeon vibe and I love playing it.
