Looks like my prayers have finally been answered. :-)

"We are thrilled to be releasing the first few hours of Silent Night, next week, to get people in the mood for some Winter (sic) ghost-hunting. The game opens on Christmas Eve, in the middle of Yule, and plays through until Easter. The lenghty preview features ghost-hunting, an introduction to the characters, the whole grave yard (sic), Brock Fields and the church at Northfield. It's a cool experience, which we look forward to sharing."

And also:
"We are releasing the first section of Silent Night for free soon. As previews go, gamers will get to enjoy many hours of ghost hunting and puzzle solving as they begin to unravel the supernatural mystery surrounding Northfield."

Although I would have preferred to get the full game at once, at least it is a start. And as the saying goes: don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
