This fact confusing me too

I think "Marshmallow" is supposed to be a bit vague and anonymous precisely so that the player can imagine her- or himself in the part. That's also why the avatar isn't as humanized, and is more like a Pillsbury Doughboy (or Doughgirl, as it were). I don't suppose there's anything that would prevent players from creating fan art of the Manimals* with their own personalized version of Marshmallow.

* I can't help but always think of Simon MacCorkindale when I read that name.

They're asking why our customizations in the profile settings in-game don't apply to dates and stuff. The game lets you give Marshmallow accessories (and even has male/female bodies), but it doesn't show them in other things. It's basically a useless feature due to only mattering in the profile.

Oh, got it. Answer is probably, because it's easier and less expensive.
