hold the shift key whilst grappling to reattach blocks and plumbings, or hold the shift key without grappling to unattach/delete

I see. I am literally smoking steam out of my ears so I might need a moment before I try that. Was trying to build my own cart from scratch (after accidentally deleting the one I was trying to augment) just now and I ended up pulling out my long hair and restarting from the last check point.

I mean I can't even get a simple wheel attached to a block. And by now I can't return the game either because of the 2 hour refund window.

Wheels attach differently, you grapple them in the middle and hover it over a block. If its solid you'll have to recycle it and replace it on the block.

Which is really really awkward and annoying and I want to punch someone for making this game so irksome to handle. The font is absolutely terrible to read (can't increase the size and the pixelized letters are illegible.) The most annoying thing is, I found the king slime thing and it is just too hard. Beginning character fights boss and gets wrecked. :/

(Ballistas apparently do not fire through barriers despite what the video on how to build weapons appeared to show.) Yes I watched the youtubes and feel dumber than before I bought this game. (This is 5 hours in)

This game would really benefit from a true wiki. The fact that I can't tell what the blinking red thing on the engine means is just boggling. It should be obvious but the lighting is terrible despite being RIGHT next to a candle. (The particulate fading in and out does not help.)

You can ask about a refund. The game is a nice idea, but it was dropped and still has several problems. The YouTube videos are of earlier versions, so the weapon mechanics don't work exactly the same way.

Sadly not an option. Steam has a very strict and stingy policy regarding refunds. The flip side is they almost always do refund if you meet their stringent requirements.
